Happy Grease 2 Day!

Greasers, can you believe it’s been 35 years? It was the start of a magical summer the day Grease 2 hit the screens on June 11, 1982. We’ve been celebrating the music & feeling ever since.

The Grease 2 Story

Set two years after the original Grease gang has graduated, Grease 2 follows the senior class of Rydell High School, class of ’61. A new crop of student bodies fill the halls of good ol’ Rydell. We open the film with a magnificent dance number set to the music of the Four Tops hit single, Back to School Again.  

We’re then introduced to Michael Carrington (Maxwell Caulfield), an exchange student from England, and also Sandy’s cousin. He hits it off with Beauty School Dropout, Pink Lady Frenchy (Didi Conn) and is instantly smitten with the leader of the Pink Ladies, Stephanie Zinone (Pfeiffer). Stephanie has recently broken up with the leader of the T-Birds, Johnny Nogerelli (Adrian Zmed), and she dreams of a Cool Rider in black leather to sweep her off her feet on a motorcycle.

Enter the Lone Biker, (Spoiler Alert: aka Michael in disguise) who has built and learned to ride a custom bike to win Stephanie’s heart. Michael shows up at the Bowlarama one night and defeats the T-Birds nemesis the Cycle Lords single handedly and impresses Stephanie “right out of her bobby socks!” Johnny, now wooing Pink Lady Paulette Rebchuck (Lorna Luft), is immediately jealous of Stephanie’s new mystery man.

Still hiding under his disguise, Michael attempts to tell Stephanie of his true identity. Johnny and his T-Birds chase him off into the night causing Michael to escape by jumping over Dead Man’s Curve. Stephanie, thinking he is dead, sings to him in a dream sequence during the Rydell High School Talent Show.

At the school’s graduation luau, Michael as the Lone Biker, shows up alive, reveals his true identity and is welcomed into the T-Birds and Stephanie’s arms. He and Stephanie then declare their love and graduate happily ever after.
