We bring to you a brief overview of the Grease 2 Production Team’s fantastic work and career accomplishments. Links to their expanded biographies are provided for further review. Without this amazing team, Grease 2 wouldn’t exist. We thank them.
Pat Birch, Director
Patricia Birch, a true visionary, took her success as a Tony nominated choreographer on the original Broadway run of Grease, to the big screen in Paramount’s blockbuster movie musical Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
In 1981, she brought her unique perspective to her directorial debut on the film Grease 2. With the highly anticipated sequel in her hands, Pat was one of the first female director’s to tackle a major studio production of this magnitude. Under her keen direction, the character Stephanie Zinone was portrayed as an empowered, dynamic female lead who’s energy and charisma rivaled that of Travolta himself. As the driving force of the Grease 2 Production Team, Pat’s hard work and dedication to her craft made Grease 2 the beloved film that it is today.

Allan Carr, Producer
We must thank Tony winning Producer Allan Carr, who brought us the Grease and other great 70’s musicals, for bringing our beloved Rydell High School back to life once again in Grease 2.
Mr. Carr, who was responsible for finding and casting Olivia Newton-John in the title role as Sandy in the movie Grease. Carr was not only the Producer for highest grossing movie musical ever, Grease. He also produced Saturday Night Fever, another smash film starring John Travolta in 1977 and Can’t Stop the Music in 1980. Allan Carr passed away on June 29, 1999. He is truly missed.

Louis St. Louis, Musical Producer
Musical Producer, Arranger and Composer extraordinaire, Louis St. Louis, who wrote Sandy for John Travolta in Grease, penned many of the songs on the Grease 2 soundtrack.
As well, Mr. St. Louis won the 1994 Drama-Logue Award for his work as Musical Director for Smokey Joe’s Café.
Robert Stigwood, Producer
Mr. Stigwood was Australian born and known for his work as Producer on both Saturday Night Fever and Grease starring John Travolta.
As well, Stigwood was also responsible for helping to catapult the careers of the Bee Gees to megastars. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, written by the Bee Gees, was released on Stigwood’s RSO Records, as were the Grease and Grease 2 soundtracks. Of note, the Grease Soundtrack has sold 38M copies worldwide.
Mr. Stigwood passed away January 4, 2016 at the age of 81.
Frank Stanley, Cinematographer
Mr. Stanley came from the Golden Age of American cinema. He was known for his cinematography on Magnum Force with Clint Eastwood, 10 with Bo Derek and Dudley Moore, and Corvette Summer starring Mark Hamill and Annie Potts and Under the Rainbow starring Carrie Fisher.
Sadly Mr. Stanley passed away in December 1999 at the age of 77. His superb work on Grease 2 will be treasured for generations to come.

John F. Burnett, Film Editor
Emmy winner John F. Burnett begin his long career as editor in 1968. His work can be seen in many films including 1973’s The Way We Were with Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford. Most noteworthy, John was the Film Editor on both Grease and Grease 2.
Ken Finkleman, Writer
Mr. Finkleman is best known as the writer, creator and producer of the CBC Television series The Newsroom, in which he also starred.
As well as his work as writer of Grease 2, Ken has written many movies including Who’s That Girl for Madonna and Airplane II: The Sequel.
Bill Oakes, Executive Producer
Mr. Oakes is a film Producer and Writer, well-known for the films Grease, Grease 2 and The Little Rascals.
