It was the Fall of 1981. School had just started and I began hearing the buzz about a new sequel to Grease. Now here is what you have to understand. I loved Grease more than life. It meant everything to me. I wanted to be John Travolta. All the neighborhood kids and I would spend countless summer days putting on shows and performing for anyone who would watch. Great times I tell ya. But it was now 3 years later and I longed for new music and new excitement. Then I got the September issue of Super Teen magazine. If you don’t know or don’t remember, Super Teen was just about one of the best “teen” mags you could get your hands on. I’ll never forget, I opened up the issue…and there it was, the ONE THING I had been waiting for. A sequel to Grease. My life would be complete.

As much as I longed for the original stars to be in the sequel, at the time, John and Olivia were only making cameos so the studio needed two new stars to fill their shoes. I remember in one issue of Super Teen, there was a voting ballot you could mail in to give your top choices for the new male and female leads. Then a couple more issues came and it was announced that the newcomers would be Maxwell Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer. I started collecting every and anything I could get my hands on, counting the days until the next summer.
June 11th, 1982 arrived, and my life would never be the same. My whole family went to the show that night. I remember it perfectly, we went to the Brookhurst Twin, in Fountain Valley for the 7:35 pm showing. I was at the theater the very next day watching my new favorite more back to back a good 3 times in a row. Back in the day, movies stayed around for months, sometimes they even got re-released. I must have seen the film at least 40 times before it left the theaters that summer.
At one point in 1988, my goal was to create a Grease 2 scapbook. I spent hours, days, weeks, months, gathering everything I could get my hands on. But, seeing that the movie was now 6 years old, content was hard to come by. I had to rely on everything I had bought in 1982, everything I won or sent away for. I never really finished that Scrapbook but my dream to do so never died. It wasnt until the inception of eBay that I really found a wealth of Grease 2 fandom all at my fingertips! I started buying everything I could get my hands on. Usually just magazines I had missed (foreign and long out of print magazines) and a few 8 x 10′s to complete my collection. In October of 1998, I decided it was finally time to take action. I spent hours upon hours scanning everything I had in my possession. This would lead to the build of the very first version of my Grease 2 fansite. In all honesty, it was pretty bad but it was a start. I would spend my free time revising and making it better. Eventually my scrapbook idea would become a reality!
Fast forward 30 years to 2012. Here I am, still as passionate about this movie as the day it was released. I love this movie with all my heart and soul. It gives me such pleasure to be able to share the magic we all felt back in the summer of ’82 with all the new fans and fans who are rediscovering it all over again. We have really come full circle. Grease 2 is more popular than ever. So it brings me incredible joy to finally bring my vision to life and share it with all the greasers out there. Grease 2 will always be my favorite movie and it warms my soul to give it the respect and honor it deserves. So without further adieü, let me welcome you and say that I hope this brings you as much fun and joy as it has brought me. Grease is still the word, the Music and Feeling go on Forever…
